AMERICAN COUNCIL OF THE BLIND
OF TUSCARAWAS VALLEY
BY-LAWS

Amended May 3, 2008

ARTICLE I.
Dues:
A. Dues for Active membership in ACB Tusc. Valley shall be paid by Febuary 15th.
B. The Dues are $15.00 for Active members which allow this member to vote.
C. If Active member is delinquent in their dues, their ability to vote is waived until the dues are paid.
D. The Treasurer will send $10.00 of the dues and a current
membership list to ACB-O.
E. The ACB-O's Treasurer will send $5.00 of the dues per member so these members are also members of the ACB-0 and ACB National organizations.

ARTICLE II.
Expulsion Of Member:
The expulsion of a member shall be handled by the officers and approved by the president.

ARTICLE III.
Duties Of Officers:
A. PRESIDENT: The president is the Chief Executive Officer of this organization, and shall preside at all meetings, appoint committees to the extent permitted by the constitution and bylaws, prepare and deliver an annual report to the annual business meeting, and serve in such other capacities as may be prescribed in the constitution and bylaws.
B. VICE-PRESIDENT: The vice-president, in the absence of the president, shall perform the duties of the president and shall discharge such other duties and exercise such other powers as may be conferred upon or delegated to him/her by the President the board, or the membership.
C. The SECRETARY of this organization, administer the duties customary for this office, according to "Roberts' Rules".
D. The TREASURER of this organization, in addition to the duties customary for this office according to "Roberts' Rules, shall forward to the state treasurer the annual dues and member's names no later than Febuary 15 in accordance with the requirements of the ACB-O.

E. The TRUSTEE of this organization, shall administer the duties customary for this office, according to "Roberts' Rules".
F. Malfeasance of an officer will be handled by the remaining officers and the resulting action informed to the membership.

ARTICLE IV.
Committees:
Committee participants need not be members of the board; however, participants must be current ACB of Tusc. Valley members. Unless otherwise designated, the chairperson of
each standing committee shall be appointed by the president. The chairperson of each committee shall appoint the members of that committee, subject to the approval by the President. Board members will not be requested to serve on more than two committees at any one time, nor be assigned as chairpersons of any more than one committee at any one time.

ARTICLE V.
Assistance:
Any person may request assistance for the purchase of Items that would assist that person with daily needs. The request must be submitted in writing before the purchase is made with board approval. Approval depends upon need and funds available within the treasury and with the approval of the board.

ARTICLE VI.
General Structure Of Operation
Meetings will be social meetings for encouragement for members and others with some business, while the business of the chapter (financial, legal, cancellation or relocation of meetings and other day to day operations) will be handled by the elected officers.  However, when fund raising or public activities are scheduled, the membership can be asked to participate if at all possible. Activities of this nature are subject to a vote from the membership.
